Starting today, you can play the classic Pokémon trading card game in a new format on mobile platforms.
The Pokémon Company has released a new Pokémon game, but not for Nintendo's main Switch platform. Rather, from today on the classic trading card game is available in a new format, because you can now get Pokémon TCG Pocket for both iOS and Android on your smartphone in the respective stores.
It is the latest approach to bringing the classic gaming experience of the trading card game into the digital age: from opening booster packs to discovering the cards to engaging in quick battles.
Two booster packs can be opened daily in the free app. There's also the Miracle Pick feature, which will give you a random card from packs opened by players around the globe. Cards are collected with nostalgic illustrations and also with new motifs that are only available in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
As for quick battles, the rules have been optimized for mobile gameplay. You can play solo or in multiplayer, and there are also functions for beginners and occasional players that are intended to ensure easier accessibility.
When the game is released there is the first expansion “Unbeatable Genes”; It includes numerous popular Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Kanto region.
