The release of Path of Exile 2, which was actually scheduled for November, has now been delayed again for a short time.

Path of Exile has a larger and loyal community that is eagerly awaiting the sequel, Path of Exile 2. This long wait was actually supposed to come to an end in November, as the early access start of the action role-playing game was scheduled for November 15th. Unfortunately, nothing will come of this in the short term.

A few weeks before the launch of the promising Diablo competitor, the development team had to pull the ripcord again and postpone the planned release. At least: The delay is fairly limited, so Path of Exile 2 should still be available in 2024. The new early access start date has now been announced as December 6, 2024.

Grinding Gear Games announced the delay on social media. In a video, director Jonathan Rogers gave some background information on the decision made. Among other things, work on the back-end server and the infrastructure is still necessary so that everything works properly at the planned start. In this context, the planned transfer of microtransactions from the first part to the sequel also plays a role.

Path of Exile 2 has been confirmed since 2019, but the development team has given itself plenty of time for the sequel to the successful action role-playing game. We can only hope that the work that still needs to be done will actually be completed by December 6th.

Path of Exile 2 goes into early access on November 15th - at least that's what the trailer says.
