News - Nintendo Switch 2: Leaks supposedly real, announced in January

It slowly but surely resembles a crime thriller. More and more alleged details about the Nintendo Switch 2 are coming to light, but Nintendo itself is completely holding back from providing information or other statements about the console. But now there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

In the past few weeks, the Nintendo community has been in massive uproar over protective cases and display films. Not because the accessories are so pretty. Rather, the leaks actually showed accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2!

Now there's a new article at TheVerge and it's not false information. The magazine spoke to Reddit user NextHandheld, who said he was able to put his hands on the Nintendo Switch 2. Why and wherefore he keeps that to himself.

NextHandheld was able to convince TheVerge primarily with two photos that he showed the magazine. However, he cannot share it publicly at the moment, but the information on his part seems serious. He couldn't turn on the console, which is why his answers are limited to the hardware.

The well-known Switch logo was emblazoned on the dock with the number “2”. The name seems to be appropriate. NextHandheld also states that the official reveal of the console will take place in January 2025.

According to the Redditor, the first edition of the console will come in gray. A white version will follow at a later date. It is currently unknown whether the Nintendo Switch uses 2 modules.

Those of you who suffer from stick drift will be particularly pleased to know that the sticks work with Hall effect technology. The magnetic approach means there is no physical wear and tear, making stick drift virtually impossible.

In addition, the new versions of the Joy-Cons seem to hold magnetically on the console, and according to NextHandheld there is also a clicking noise when they snap into place. They are solved with the push of a button.

There are two Tetris classics available for you on Switch Online in December.
