The Switch 2 will come onto the market in 2025, but how well will the Nintendo console do then? A well-known analyst dares to make a forecast for the important US market!
Given the numerous current rumors, the official presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected in the immediate future; the console will then be released in 2025. The well-known analyst Mat Piscatella now dares to predict how well the new hardware will sell.
Assuming the Switch 2 is released in the first half of 2025, according to Piscatella, 4.3 million copies are expected to be sold in the USA in 2025. For comparison: The original Switch sold 4.8 million units in the United States in its 2017 release year. In this respect, the Switch 2 would lag behind its predecessor.
Nevertheless, sales of the Switch 2 to this extent are expected to account for around a third of all hardware sales in the USA in 2025 - excluding PC handhelds such as the Steam Deck or the ROG Ally.
According to the analyst, initial demand for the hardware will be high, but it is possible that Nintendo has prepared sufficient resources to avoid a supply shortage like the one with the original Switch or the PlayStation 5.
At the end of the year, the PlayStation 5 could still be the best-selling console in the United States in 2025, followed by the Switch 2, Piscatella concluded.
There are two Tetris classics available for you on Switch Online in December.
