News - Nintendo Switch 2: Downward compatibility: Over 100 Switch games cause problems!

Nintendo had confirmed the downward compatibility of the Switch 2 at an early stage, but many original switch titles do apparently cause problems in this.

After it soon became known that the Switch 2 should be downward compatible and therefore should be able to play Switch original games, a small restriction has caused some confusion in the past few months. At that time, Nintendo also said that there will be some exceptions in this regard.

As a result, the result was generally assumed that this would mean games like Ring Fit Adventure, which require the original joy-cons for use. As it turns out, the problems are much lower, because not all switch games are currently running without problems via downward compatibility on the Switch 2.

The Japanese published two lists in this context: a list includes the switch title thatStart on the Switch 2, but still have some in-game problems. Here you can find prominent games like Guys,Saints Row IV: Re-Elected,Alan Wake RemasteredorStreet Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.

The second list is then more frightful because it includesTitles that have problems starting on Switch 2 at all- And this list is equally extensive and prominently occupied. Examples? There would be the battle royal burnerFortnite, the horror burnerDead by Daylight, the shooterDOOM: Eternal,Neverwinter Nights,Warframeand so forth.

Overall, we are talking about more than 120 switch games that do not yet run on Switch 2 via downward compatibility! So the problems seem to be significantly lower than just with the original Joy-Cons. Of course, developers in many cases should work under high pressure to fix the existing problems through updates, soothing the whole thing sounds for fans of downward compatibility, which simply want to continue to play their collection on the Switch 2, but currently not.
