Pioner, a post-apocalyptic MMO shooter with a sci-fi Soviet flavor, is coming onto the market next year. A trailer shows the first gameplay, and the Steam product page has now been launched.
GFA Games is currently working on Pioner, a new MMO shooter with a post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting and a lot of Soviet paint. The not uninteresting project has now been presented in more detail with a gameplay trailer and has also received a product page on Steam; The developers are now preparing for the planned release in 2025.
The MMO shooter relies on elements typical of the genre such as survival, exploration, crafting and resource management. In the dark and spacious world there are also plenty of PvE missions, but also competitive PvP zones in which you can face other gamers. The crafting system mentioned above should provide a large selection of weapons for confrontations, and there will also be character progression that enables different play styles.
What is the game thematically about? The open world has been swept into the post-apocalypse in an alternate timeline. All sorts of remnants of former Soviet buildings await you on a desolate island called Tartarus, which serves as the setting. The map is a whopping 50 square kilometers in size and also houses numerous dungeons that can be explored. Through story and faction missions you should be able to maintain relationships and collect loyalty rewards.
Since Pioner is also described as a social MMO, player-driven storytelling plays a crucial role. Regardless of whether you follow the narrative missions or form alliances with in-game factions: you influence how the world develops through gaming itself.
With Pioner, a major MMO shooter in a post-apocalyptic open game world was announced.
