Monster Hunter Wilds has only been available for a few hours, but everything looks like a record game. But there is also criticism and a lot to do for Capcom.
Monster Hunter Wilds is there and as it looks, the servers have largely resisted the rush. They had a lot to do because you look atSteamDB, the new Capcom game put a monstrous start. Already a few hours after the launch, over 980,000 players are already romping in the game and the Europeans are not even fully involved in this time of day.
Monster Hunter Wilds has already pushed himself into the top 10 most played games of all time and has passed Baldur's Gate III, Hogwarts Legacy and New World. Elden ring with a maximum of 953,426 players only looks at the rear lights, while cyberpunk 2077 is slowly sweating.
While the servers have been running reasonably stable so far, except for starting problems by the unloved Denuvo-DRM, the first user reviews on Steam are still quite sobering. Only 42 percent of the previously over 3,000 user reviews are positive, an almost devastating value.
The reviews on the actual gameplay are limited, but there are obviously some catching up to do for Capcom when it comes to performance and optimizing the game. Bad and unstable Framerates are criticized even on high-end graphics cards and overall a significantly worse optimization than in the beta. The actual performance also had little to do with the values of the recently published benchmark tool. Even frequent crashes are criticized when the game starts.
So it seems as if the developers have to quickly improve to fix the technical problems before the PC community bursts the head.
