News - XDefiant: Season 3 brings content from five previously planned seasons

Before XDefiant says goodbye, Season 3 is coming up - and it brings with it further content that was planned for a whopping five more upcoming seasons, which, as we know, will no longer exist.

Ubisoft has already announced the end of XDefiant; On June 3, 2025, the free-to-play shooter, which actually started so well but was unable to attract any new players in the long term, will be taken off the internet and go offline. Until then, the developers are letting it rip again.

The final update including Season 3 not only includes the content actually planned for this season, but the team was also allowed to include content planned for later seasons. The result: Additional content from seasons 4 to 8, which will no longer be available, can now also be played until the end of the shooter next summer.

Mark Rubin from the development team confirmed via social media that a small team was allowed to continue work on XDefiant; this was able to integrate the additional content. "That's why we have our content in Season 3 plus some content from Seasons 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8," said Rubin.

In short: There are three new factions, including not the Assassins who were already planned for Season 3, but also the Wolves and the Omega Force from the originally planned Seasons 4 and 5.

In addition to the factions, there are six new arena maps and three new linear maps, including a new Rayman map that was planned for mid-Season 4. The e-sports-focused Defuse mode is also making its way into XDefiant, which can now be played alongside the Lum Hunt, Tilt, Turbo XD and Vs-Bots modes. On the weapons front, the G36K, M1A and Diceros pistol are new.
