News - Lost Soul Aside: The release period has been set, but there is a problem for PC gamers

It sounds a bit like the rags-to-riches dream: a small indie project that is taken over by Sony and blessed with a lot of budget. After eight years of development, the action-adventure Lost Souls Aside finally seems to be on the home stretch.

Chinese developer Yang Bing has been working on Lost Soul Aside for eight years. In the beginning, he used ready-made stock assets to make his vision come true. He also initially worked completely alone, and after a while he even founded his own studio, Ultizero Games.

Sony started the “China Hero Project” some time ago and in the process also became aware of Bing and Lost Soul Aside. Now the company is even taking over the distribution of the action-adventure, which is scheduled to appear on PlayStation 5 and PC and has now even been given a release period. You can leave sometime in 2025.

As part of this announcement, a new trailer was also released, which shows very well which titles Bing was influenced by. It's no coincidence that the gameplay is reminiscent of Devil May Cry. Bing also cites Final Fantasy XV as another major inspiration for Lost Soul Aside, which is evident in the design of its main character. He's very reminiscent of Noctis.

You slip into the shoes of Kazer, who even gets a cute companion: the dragon Arena. The aim is to save humanity from evil dimensional invaders and in doing so you use powerful combos and upgrade your character in the skill tree and adapt it to your playing style. At least that's what Ultizero Games promises.

In line with the announcement of the release period, Lost Soul Aside's Steam page also went online. However, if you want to play on the PC, there is one restriction: you must have a PSN account. This has already caused review bombings for some Sony games in the past and is unlikely to be particularly well received here either.

After eight years of development, Lost Souls Aside is scheduled to appear in 2025. Here you can see fresh gameplay.
