Riot Games announced the name of the physical collective card game for League of Legends with Riftbound

Riot Games had been working on a collective card game around the successful Moba League of Legends for some time under the working title Project K. As of today, this has now had a final name and was also given further information.

The collection card game should start under the name Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game. The starting signal is scheduled to take place in China in the summer of 2025 and then in October 2025 in selected English -speaking countries. For this purpose, the launch set called "Origin" with over 300 different collecting cards is first launched, in which various champions from League of Legends will also be found. Among other things, appearances by Annie, Garen, Jinx, Lee Sin, Lux, Master Yi, Viktor, Volibear and Yasuo have already been confirmed.

Riftbound can be played both 1V1 and in various multiplayer formats, including 2V2 and free-for-all. For the launch, there are several prefabricated decks that are structured around classic champions. The champion decks each include 56 cards of different types such as units, legends, champions, skills, equipment, runes and combat fields.

For beginners and casual players there is the collective set "Riftbound: Proving Grounds", which includes four starter decks on the Champions Lux, Annie, Master Yi and Garen and is suitable for two to four players. If you want to upgrade the decks, you can buy 14-card booster packs with cards from different rarity levels for the launch.

The final designs of the maps and game mechanics are still under development.
