On the occasion of the announcement of current business figures, Take-Two Interactive also gave an update on the release of GTA 6. When will the action blockbuster be released?
Publisher Take-Two Interactive has presented new business figures and as a result, the big upcoming blockbuster Grand Theft Auto VI is once again in focus. The supposed action hit from Rockstar Games is the company's most important upcoming title and is therefore particularly in focus for further business forecasts.
GTA 6 is therefore logically mentioned in the press release for the current annual report, because Take-Two Interactive once again gave a small update on the planned release period. Despite all the rumors and prophecies of doom, the action epic is still on schedule as communicated to date.
Take-Two Interactive reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will continue to be released in fall 2025. After the first trailer from December 2023 spoke generally of 2025 for the release, the period had since been further specified - and now confirmed again. There was always that too, but these have not yet been further confirmed.
Even if the publisher doesn't elaborate, there is currently a high probability that GTA 6 will come onto the market in October 2025. Historically, almost every previous GTA has been released in the month of October. There were only two deviations: GTA 5 and GTA 4, both of which also underwent extensive shifts - and that's something we no longer hope for from GTA 6.
Meanwhile, GTA 5 is still selling great after 11 years. According to the financial report, sales figures have now broken through the 205 million copies sold mark. Compared to the previous quarter, there were another 5 million sales.
