It may not be a control 2, but with FBC: Firebreak, Remedy will soon deliver at least a multiplayer shooter in the same universe. With a developer livestream there was a whole load of new information about the release date, upcoming jobs (i.e. missions) and the prices of the standard and deluxe edition.
In Firebreak you compete with three players in so -called jobs against various supernatural phenomena that threaten the oldest house. According to the events made of control, many of the paranormal objects stored there rotate through and hissing is not yet under control. So as a Firebreak team you will be sent to the danger zone to prevent everything from flying around your ears.
With "Paper Trail" we knew a job for a long time. Here you compete against a bunch of wild sticking notes, while on all sides of the owners of owned the soldiers storm on you. Two other jobs are also playable at the start, of which we now got a little more gameplay and know the names.
In "Hot Fix" everything revolves around heat. While the heating in the oldest house amok seems to be running, you have to keep a cool head, or worry with water showers and cooling wind tunnels. At the same time, you can also use the fire to get rid of the obsessed Zischer.
At "Sticky Ricky", stickier, explosive, pink foam spreads out, which quickly stuck to you and ensures explosive surprises.
The standard version of Firebreak costs around 40 euros - regardless of the platform. For the Deluxe Edition, of course, you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket. It is around 50 euros here at the start.
The Deluxe Edition includes:
- “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
- “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
- Firest starter armor set, apex revision (helmet, body armor, gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 franking cosmetic objects including gun skins, sprays and armor sets
Remedy plans to provide Firebreak with new content over a longer period of time. Two more jobs are still being considered in 2025 and there are probably some updates ready in 2026.
Of course, the question of long -term monetization remains. Here the developers rely on an in-game shop for purely cosmetic objects. However, classic FOMO goals should be dispensed with. Every item that once made it into the shop remains there. So nothing with "now quickly access, otherwise you can never get the skin again!".
The so-called "requisitions" contain armor sets, voice packs, sprays and skins for weapons and are completely available with in-game currency. There are additional cosmetics for real money under the category "Classified Requisities".
FBC: Firebreak will be released on June 17, 2025 for the PC (Steam and Epic), Xbox Series X | s and PlayStation 5. In addition, the game is available in the PC Game Pass, the Game Pass Ultimate and PS Plus (extra and premium).
