News - Death Stranding: Film Course finds your director

Hideo Kojimas Death Stranding is known to be filmed - and now the strip has also found his director. Hideo Kojima itself is not!

Cult developer Hideo Kojima has created the next big game brand with Death Stranding, which should now also come to the big screen. A film project was confirmed some time ago and has now taken the next decisive step forward. As of today, the film adaptation officially has a director.

Accordingly, Michael Sarnoski will take this important position and look after the film as a director. In this position, he is already responsible for the films "A Quiet Place: Day One" and "Pig". As the production company A24 confirms, Sarnoski will also act as a writer of the film adaptation.

The film is also said to take up the mysteries around Death Stranding, the catastrophic series of events that make the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead blur. In the course of this, as already in the game, furrowing creatures occur, according to the announcement on the director's occupation. The film adaptation should therefore come as a kind of prequel to the video games.

Both Death Stranding and the upcoming Sequel Death Stranding 2: On the Beach are decades based on the original apocalyptic event called Death Stranding.

It should take some time before the film is implemented. Sarnoski's next project is initially "The Death of Robin Hood", also from A24. Only then will the plans for the film adaptation of Death Stranding, which were originally confirmed in 2023, be implemented.
