CD Projekt RED's sci-fi epic Cyberpunk 2077 will soon conquer another platform. Mac gamers should also be able to enjoy the action role-playing game.
CD Projekt RED has announced that the sci-fi title Cyberpunk 2077, which initially stumbled but then caught on and became a success, will conquer another platform. In the future, gamers will also be able to enjoy the title on an Apple Mac.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimated Edition has now been announced for Apple computers, which will contain both the main game and the major expansion “Phantom Liberty”. When released, the title will run natively on Macs with Apple's silicon platform, including the iMacs, Mac Minis and MacBook Pros with M4 chip that were just introduced this week.
According to the developers, the Mac implementation has been completely adapted to the Silicon platform and also Metal. Advanced features such as path tracing, frame generation and spatial audio for even more immersive gameplay will also find their way into the Mac version when it is released in early 2025. Purchases should then be possible via the Mac App Store and Steam. Anyone who has already bought the PC version on Steam can now also play directly on the Mac.
CD Projekt RED plans to announce the specific release date for Cyberpunk 2077 on the Mac at a later date.
The time has come, Update 2.1 is here and also the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which includes the main game, the Phantom Liberty expansion as well as all DLCs and updates. That just doesn't work without a suitable launch trailer.
