We already knew that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 had the most successful start in franchise history. Now there is more information about how the current Black Ops 6 compares to last year's Modern Warfare III.
Treyarch and Activision Blizzard are likely to be more than satisfied with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 so far, after all it has already been confirmed that the title has been released so farhas laid down. Now Miles Leslie from Treyarch provides an interviewBBCa little more context and reveals details about how the game actually compares to last year's Modern Warfare III.
The veteran, who has been working for Treyarch for 16 years, confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sold a whopping 60 percent more on Steam and PlayStation than last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III in the same period. The fact that Black Ops 6 can surpass the last part in such a big way is almost a bit surprising, but it shows how well the shooter franchise is currently doing.
The reason for this is probably the fact that Activision has launched a huge marketing campaign around Black Ops 6 and promoted the shooter extensively.
And according to Leslie, the appearance in Xbox Game Pass right at launch helped the shooter take off. Even a number of players who otherwise might not have been able to get excited about the title apparently gave the new Call of Duty another chance. Nevertheless, the studio is of course aware that, despite all the successes, there are still some things that need to be improved and they want to work intensively on them.
Shortly before the official launch, here is the launch trailer for the first season in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for you.
