News - Borderlands 4: New trailer with real gameplay later this week

Fans of the Borderlands series can look forward to real gameplay from the upcoming fourth part this week. The expected trailer will have even more to offer.

Gearbox Software is known to be working on Borderlands 4 and thus the continuation of one of the company's most successful franchises. Accordingly, many fans are waiting for fresh information and impressions - and that will actually be available this week.

CEO Randy Pitchford has now announced that there will be a big new trailer for Borderlands 4 as part of The Game Awards 2024 on the night of Thursday to Friday. This video clip will also feature real gameplay from the new action title, but more than that.

According to Pitchford's social media post, there will also be a never-before-seen cinematic sequence set between the end of Borderlands 3 and the beginning of Borderlands 4. This cinematic sequence should also allow conclusions to be drawn about the expected plot of the new part.

Overall, the CEO is very excited about the presentation at the big awards ceremony. It will then be interesting to see whether Gearbox will give a more specific release date or at least a release period. Borderlands 4 is currently scheduled for the fiscal year from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. Since Grand Theft Auto VI is still expected for fall 2025, a three-month buffer is generally expected for this major release. So if Borderlands 4 comes before GTA 6, a release date is probably already possible if the game comes in late spring or early summer 2025.

It's official! Borderlands 4 is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
