News - Assassin's Creed Shadows: New basis should offer more freedom than ever

We already had the construction of a base or something similar in previous Assassin's Creed parts. Shadows apparently wants to offer you significantly more freedom.

The construction of a proper home is not new to Assassin's Creed. After all, you were able to build a complete Wiking village in enemy England in Valhalla. However, quite limited, because all buildings and facilities ended up in a permanent place and away from the decoration there were little freedom.

That seems to be different in Assassin's Creed Shadows. You can also build a base there in which you build your own assassin force, but apparently more freedom is allowed. An NPC called Miss Tomiko takes care of your basis as an administrator, which should be available to you after completing the prologue.

Dany ST-Laurent, deputy system director, saysIn a new deep dive: "It is quite ambitious. After fortresses, villas, homes, pirate bays, café theaters, moving trains, ships, settlements, assassinations, assassination offices ... We knew that we had to take a brave step forward if we wanted to create something new in this regard. That meant the opportunity to give the players the opportunity to make their home base completely free."

A piece of land will be made available to you and of course you have to take care of resources, but the design of your base seems to be largely free and you can place objects and decoration more or less freely. You get certain objects from quests, dealers and other sources.

The possible buildings also have an impact on the gameplay. For example, the smithy serves to improve your equipment, in the dojo you can train and train your allies. In the Deep Dive, some buildings and facilities with their effects on the game are presented to you.

In a new trailer, Ubisoft introduces you some of the visual possibilities of your new shelter:
