Acer announced two PC handhelds at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The Nitro Blaze 11 is particularly worth mentioning because of its size.
Acer is also increasing its efforts in the area of PC handhelds and will continue to compete with Steam Deck and the like in the future. Two new products were announced at CES 2025 in Las Vegas: the Acer Nitro Blaze 8 and the Acer Nitro Blaze 11.
While the Nitro Blaze 8 is more comparable to its direct competitors, the Nitro Blaze 11 is a bit out of line. Reason: With its 10.95-inch WQXGA screen with a resolution of 2560x1600, 120 Hz and 500 nits, the product is a real giant in this category. At 1,050 grams, the good piece also weighs more than three times as much as a Switch and also significantly more than the prominent ASUS ROG Ally X with its around 670 grams.
Far from the huge screen in the Blaze 11, both models rely on powerful and up-to-date gaming equipment in the field of PC handhelds. In both cases, the AMD Ryzen 8 8840 HS with 8 cores and 16 threads is used; graphically, the AMD Radeon 780M is used. Both models also have in common that they have 16 GB of LPDDR5X SDRAM; In the end, the difference actually lies in the size of the panel: The Blaze 8 has 8.8 inches with 2560x1600 pixels at 144 Hz and a brightness of 500 nits. The weight is significantly lower at 750 grams and the size is of course reduced accordingly.
The current chips enable modern features such as Radon Super Resolution and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution for sharp images and smooth display on handhelds. The Acer Game Space app is intended to give you easy access to games and applications; The handheld uses Windows 11 as a basis.
Both models are expected to be available from the end of the second quarter of 2025; pricing will be announced at a later date.
