Twisters tells the story of weather researcher Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones), who once risked her life to study gigantic hurricanes up close as a storm chaser. But after a drastic experience, she relocated to New York and left the adrenaline-filled life behind.
One day, her close friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) wants to test a potentially revolutionary invention. To do this, however, he needs Kate and lures her back to field research. There they also meet Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), who carries out dangerous storm chases with his team in order to post them on social media.
While chasing the storm, the weather phenomenon increases in unexpected intensity and erupts as a life-threatening tornado, which soon tests the stamina of everyone involved.
