Final Fantasy 7, the PC and I have a complicated past. Due to the lack of a PlayStation, I wanted to catch up on the legendary original in 1998 on the PC. Unfortunately, the adventure about Cloud, Aerith and Sephiroth always crashed at the same point, which is why I was never able to finish it.
I was accordingly excited about the three-part remake. Both the good but very linear opening and the outstanding middle sectionI played through it in a frenzy, which easily takes 100 hours with the latter alone if, like me, you take everything with you.

Let's start with the good news. The beautiful role-playing game based on Unreal Engine 4 runs much more smoothly and more stable than usual, even on mid-range computershave given rise to fear.
I play on an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with RTX 3070 and 32 GB of RAM and get a stable 60 frames per second almost consistently in WQHD and with maximum details. Both when exploring the detailed open world and in the effective battles.
