A new series with William Shatner?
On a fan event in Vancouver, Shatner prices that he is currentlyIn conversations with the author of a Star Trek seriesfor Paramount Plus (viaThe Direct).
I've been asked so many times to come back as Kirk. If Kirk is supposed to come back, it has to mean something. It must be the right series.
But this author impressed me so much that I said that let's talk when I finished in Vancouver. So I'm waiting for an offer for the show, it should come on Monday or Tuesday.
So we know that it is about a series. Two active projects are currently in question: Strange New Worlds and Starfleet Academy. But it could also be possible that it isis a completely new show(which may even be designed especially for Shatner).
In Strange New Worlds there is already a Captain Kirk, which is embodied by The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley. The show plays in 2259 ("Prime time line"), just a few months after the plot ofSeason 1 and 2. Accordingly, Kirk should be 26 years old.
With the help of parallel universes and various temporics, a lot has now been possible and an occurrence of Shatner is not excluded.
Season 3, however, starts this year, but a return from Shatner could happen in the fourth season already confirmed.
The filming ofStarfleet Academyhave already been completed and a second season is already planned. According to this, a appearance of Shatner in this series would also be possible.
