No matter what you think of Skeleton Crew:You just have to love Neel.There has been a big mystery surrounding the little blue elephant boy for some time: Which species in the Star Wars universe do Neel and his family actually belong to?
One thing has been certain for a while: Ortolan (who are fan favorites and jizz musiciansMax Reboalso counts) they are definitely not. Those responsible behind Skeleton Crew made this clear at the end of 2024 (via starwars.com).
Now the series creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford personally shed light on the darkness: According to the duo (viaCollider)Neel is a Myykian. And yes, this is a completely new species in the Star Wars universe.
Too many details about the Myykians that are onHowever, they still do not exist. The humanoid elephants are intelligent, have four limbs, four fingers on each hand and a trunk. Male Myykians also grow tusks over the years, as seen on Neel's father.

By the way, Neel is the young actor in Skeleton CrewRobert Timothy Smith(Dear Santa, Wolfs) set to music. Actress Kacie Borrowman (Water for the Elephants, Avatar: The Way of Water) was on hand to bring Neel to life using real costumes, animatronics and a motion capture process.
It is currently unknown whether and when we will see Neel and Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) and KB (Kyriana Kratter) again. Disney has not yet revealed whether Skeleton Crew will get a second season.
The series creators would definitely be up for it and have already hinted that there would be a jump in time. After all, the young actors are aging quite visibly and you don't want to be like thatact like just a few days have passed.
