Path of Exile 2: First update fixes some of your biggest criticisms - here are all the patch notes

From now on you can finally expect bigger loot explosions in Path of Exile 2.

You must have had an exciting first weekend, or? Now that the launch frenzy has died down a bit, the developers at Grinding Gear Games are taking your feedback to heart and are making some improvements - in particular, the much criticized amount of loot has been targeted.

In this article you will find out which changes have already been implemented, what is coming next and, above all, how these adjustments affect your gaming fun.

This is what the first big patch for Path of Exile 2 brings

As the developers announced in a blog entry, an update will be released soon that addresses many of the biggest criticisms.

It's all aboutsmoother dodging, improved rewards and more convenience at checkpoints. Some changes are already active, others will come with an upcoming patch.

We have compiled all the important details from the official developer blog for you and used them to create provisional patch notes for the upcoming update.

Already live

  • Rare monsters and their loot:
    • Doubled rarity bonus per rare mod
    • +10% Pro Rare Mod bonus
    • Increased chance for more monster mods in the endgame
  • Currency adjustments:
    • Regal Orbs: approximately 40% higher drop rate
    • Dismantling six mod items: now 2 shelf splitters instead of 1
    • Minor Jeweler's Orbs: approximately 33% more frequent drop
    • Chaos Orbs: slightly reduced drop rate
    • Gemcutter's Prisms: 500% more drops and now +5% instead of +1% quality
  • Map Modifications:
    • Stronger prefix mods (e.g. rarity mods increased by 2.5x)
    • More chance of mods that increase loot quality and monster density
    • Fewer useless mods, no more bottom tier
  • Unlucky-Drop-Schutz:
    • A maximum of 50% of a Unique Boss's drops can be gold
    • Act and card bosses always drop at least one rare item
  • Click-to-move controls:
    • Move-only button no longer results in unwanted attacks

Not live yet (will follow in an upcoming patch):

  • Dodge roll:
    • Reduced player hitbox to zero when dodging roll
    • Smaller monsters can be pushed away when dodged
  • Checkpoints & Teleportation:
    • Clicking on a checkpoint allows teleportation to other discovered checkpoints in the same area
    • Additional checkpoints at strategic points, e.g. B. in the first Dreadnaught section
  • Endgame & Map Adjustments:
    • Rare monsters appear on the minimap when there are 200 remaining monsters
    • More rare monsters in many maps to ensure their minimum number
    • Correction of maps where increased monster count mods do not yet work properly will also follow

These changes are just the beginning. Anyone who has played Path of Exile 1 knows that the development team will continue to take your feedback into account and make adjustments if necessary. Just like its successor, new leagues in PoE1 often started with numerous problems, but these were usually resolved within a few days.
