Keep your hands off it at the moment - Industry giant 4.0 is falling into a deep hole when Steam launches

The industry giant 4.0 is currently receiving a lot of criticism on Steam.

November 15, 2024 islaunched into Early Access. However, the German economic legend didn't do so well with us - so we gave us a rating trend of 65 to 75 -

An assessment with which we are obviously not alone. The game is also currently having a difficult time on Steam.Shortly after the release, just 46 percent of the reviews were positive.

“It will take at least another year”

The criticism from the players is diverse. That's how he writesUser TheOrigin:

Stay away from it for now. It's more of a demo than a game. It needs at least another year or more of work and adjustments to the game mechanics and technology. Compared to IndustryGiant2, it's even a step backwards in terms of some of the mechanics. I have no idea who came up with it, but it can't hurt to look outside the box at representatives of the genre...

Below, the user makes a long list of the errors the game currently has, criticizing, among other things, maps that are too small, the graphics or the fact that the Techtree is behind a paywall.

However, according to Steam, TheOrigin has spent less than half an hour in the game so far. User Rhaan invested more than 16 hours and therefore significantly more playing time in Industrie Gigant 4. AlsoRhaan compares in his reviewthe new offshoot with the famous and popular predecessor Industrie Gigant 2:

Currently no worthy successor... No AI opponents and therefore no economic challenges. No freedom in how you want to build your industry, you just have to slap everything onto the map chronologically. Feels like a run-of-the-mill browser game or mobile game. Hopefully there will be many more updates, otherwise 20 euros is too much for so little content.

In addition to the predominantly negative reviews, the number of players is also not that high.At the start of early access, Industrie Gigant 4.0 had almost 600 players at the same time. Currently the value hassettled between 75 and 126.

“The basic framework is there”

But there are also a number of reviews in which the game comes off well. This is what the user writesSocial hotspot:

Pretty fun. Can easily compete with Cities Skylines Part 1. If you liked parts 1 and 2 before, you will love this part.

However, even with the positive reviews, it sometimes sounds like the game is still far from where it should be. So meansBackstoneapproximately:

The basic framework is there and is very well done. Some things still need to be worked on, such as road and track construction.

The developers from the German studio Don VS Dodo are currently mainly commenting on the negative reviews on Steam and asking fans what should be changed.A good sign that something will happen at Industry Giant 4.0 in the coming weeks and months.

The actual start of early access was planned for October 23, 2024.But just three days before this date, publisher Toplitz Productions and developer Don VS Dodo announced that the release date would be November 15th.

The reason for the postponement: Internal and external tests and feedback from demo players revealed major problems with the tutorial and operation. In the three additional weeks, developers and publishers wanted to fix these problems.
