Unsurprisingly, Codemasters will bring a new F1 part onto the market again this year: From May 30th you can display your virtual driving skills in F1 25.
In addition to the announcement of the release date and the return of the story mode, the developers also have theassociated steam websiteUpdated. The minimal and recommended system requirements can now be found on this.
So much in front: Compared to F1 24, the new racing game changes little to the required PC hardware:
Minimum | Recommended | |
---|---|---|
CPU | Intel Core i5-6400 AMD Ryzen 3 1200 | Intel Core i5-9600K AMD Ryzen 5 2600X |
GPU | Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 AMD Radeon RX 570 Intel Arc A380 | Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 AMD Radeon RX 6700XT Intel Arc A580 |
RAM | 8 GB ram | 16 GB ram |
DirectX | 12 | 12 |
Storage space | 100 GB | 100 GB |
Operating system | Windows 10 21h1 or newer | Windows 10 21h1 or newer |
This also makes it clear that compared to F1 24, the developers only replace the more than 13-year-old Intel Core i3-2130 and AMD FX-4300 as minimum requirements. There are somewhat more modern CPUs in their place that are about the mandatoryAVX2 instructionhave.
The graphics cards mentioned in the system requirements apply, however, without the use of any ray tracing effects. If you want to play F1 25 with active RT, the AMD and NVIDIA requirements are shifting a little up:
- Minimum: AMD Radeon RX 6700XT / Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060
- Recommended: AMD Radeon RX 6800 / Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070
The two Intel GPUs made of the above table, on the other hand, are already indicated with ray tracing in the back of the head.
It gets exciting when you want to play F1 25 in VR mode. In the processor required, Codemasters again names the Intel Core i5-9600K or the AMD Ryzen 5 2600X as a VR minimum requirement.
For the GPU, on the other hand, it should be at least one NVIDIA GTX 1660 or an AMD RX 590. For VR lovers, nothing changes again on the proposed Intel graphics cards. F1 25 mentions the following models as the official support of VR glasses:
- Meta Quest 2 + Link
- Oculus Rift S
- HTC Cosmos / HTC Vive Pro
- Valve Index
- HP Reverb G2
Further information on upscaling, widescreen support and more will probably be released in the announced »Deep Dive« in the coming month. In view of the previous support of DLSS 3, FSR 3 and various widescreen conditions, you can at least be optimistic that these will also be included in F1 25.
