Elon Musk admits to cheating his way into successes in Path of Exile and Diablo

In the last few months, Elon Musk has repeatedly caused a stir - also because of his impressively high-ranking Diablo and Path of Exile accounts. AtHe reportedly even reached number 20 in the global rankings.

But after one at the latest-Tech Billionaire StreamDoubts arose in the communitywhether he really earned his accounts himself. Musk has now commented on the allegations and admits to having illegally shared accounts. He also claims that he never wanted full credit for the achievement.

Elon Musk clarifies and provides a curious reason

At the beginning of January 2025, Elon Musk streamed gameplay from his top-ranked Path of Exile 2 account worldwide. However, it quickly became clear to viewers that neither his skill nor his knowledge matched what would be needed to place a character alone in the global top lists of hardcore fashion. For example, he was unable to open the endgame map.

Almost two weeks later, there is now certainty. TheYouTuber NikoWrex published a video with Musk's permission, in demChat history between the YouTuber and the tech billionairebe shown.

There NikoWrex asked whether he really let other people play for him in Diablo 4 and PoE2. Musk then reacts100 percent, but adds that any gameplay that has been released is actually his work.

The others do it too: He justifies his actions by saying that it is supposedly impossibleto beat the Asian players if you don't. He further accuses the other top players of also engaging in account sharing.

NikoWrex then asks whether Musk's intention was to receive full credit for his accounts. Musk then replies:

No. I never claimed it. The top accounts in Diablo and PoE require multiple players on one account to win a level race.

Are Musk's accounts blocked now?

Musk has been causing a stir with his accounts for many months. Even before his official statement and the revelations from the community, many players questioned whether the busy billionaire really plays that much himself.

There is no apology for his behavior or an explanation as to why he acted the way he did. The question is what the consequences will be. Account sharing is prohibited by default and the developers of Path of Exile 2 have therefore alreadyvarious accounts blocked.
