Diablo 4 Season 7 starts on January 21, 2025 at 1:00 a.m. (German time).So if you want to be there on time for the start of the season, you have to be prepared for a night shift. Season 7 is the second season within the expansion.
The PTR (public test realm) for Season 7ran from December 3rd to 10th, 2024 and has already been completed.
Season Theme: What is the Season of Witchcraft about?
The theme of Season 7 is the new witch power (Season of Witchcraft
).These Witch Powers are new magical abilities that can make your builds even more powerful. There are four categories of witch powers in total:
- Disgusting:Offers you magic with destructive energies and transformations.
- Psyche:You can harness protective powers of mind and soul to create visions, focus your attacks, and infuse your enemies with madness.
- Growth and Decay:Lets you cast magic that heals and damages as well as strengthens life force and other resources. These incantations can cause terrible illnesses and disorders.
- Lost Powers:These particularly rare witch powers were considered lost and can be rediscovered by you.
You gain the powers of Witchcraft by collecting Restless Rot.This is a new material that you get from whispering tasks or by eliminating head rotters. You can exchange Restless Rot at Circle altars for the new witch powers and improvements.
Armory: What does the new comfort feature offer for builds?
Season 7 gives you a practical armory in Diablo 4 that makes storing and managing your builds much easier.In the Armory you can finally save, customize, name your builds and then switch between them effortlessly.
You get 5 equipment slots per character,so you can easily create up to five different builds for each of your characters. You save your equipment, Paragon boards, glyphs, skill selection and class mechanics. Once created, you can change very different builds at lightning speed without having to spend ages tinkering with your characters.
Switching between different loadouts doesn't cost any gold.The Armory can be found in every major city in Sanctuary, as well as endgame hubs such as the Citadel, the Whispering Tree, and the Training Grounds in Kyovashad.

Headhunts are zone events that appear periodically in Sanctuary (similar to Infernal Floods). You can collect materials there to then receive Occult Gems.
- Headhunts:Season 7 introduces the Head Rotters as new seasonal enemies for you to hunt. The new activity will start at the Whispering Tree. You then have to eliminate special opponents or boss variants. If you knock down bosses, you will receive their head, which you can exchange for occult gems. In addition, when you defeat the head rotters, you also collect restless rot, which you need for the witch powers, among other things.
- Occult gemstones: You can get the seasonal socketable items from the Whispering Tree. To do this you have to exchange for things like Volatile Heads of the Head Rot, Restless Rot and Gemstone Fragments. Occult Gems provide additional affixes that can provide powerful synergies with the new Witch powers. An Occult Gem also offers you 160 armor and 8 percent resistance to all types of damage.
- New items and more:With the seventh season there will be some quality-of-life improvements and 8 new uniques. Owners of Vessel of Hatred also gain access to 3 new runes. In addition, it is now possible to permanently unlock class quests for your entire account. The layout for the Whispering Tree is being improved.
