After Edgerunners, there are at least two more film adaptationsplanned: Once animated and once as a live-action adaptation. However, many questions still remain unanswered about both projects. But if Idris Elba had his way, it should bea meeting between Solomon Reed and Johnny Silverhandcome.
At least that's what Elba revealed in a new interviewScreenRant, which is actually aboutgoes. And the two actors are already standing together in the sound booth:Elba lends his voice to Knuckles, while Reeves voices Shadow.
A cyberpunk film with Reed and Silverhand?
Idris Elba would now like to meet Keanu Reeves again for a film adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 - and is even enthusiastic about this idea:
[...] I think if there's one game that deserves a film adaptation, it's [Cyberpunk 2077]. I think [Solomon Reed] and [Johnny Silverhand] would be incredible together. So let's talk about it until it becomes a reality.
Of course there is a catch.By the time Elba's Solomon Reed is active in Night City, Johnny Silverhand is long dead. A digital copy of Rocker Boys is just haunting V's head, but only one character can actually meet her in Cyberpunk 2077: the elite netrunner So Mi aka Songbird.
Of course, the question arises as to whether there is even room for the characters of Elba and Reed in the planned live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077. After all, it is anything but guaranteed that it is a direct adaptation of the video game and that Reed or Silverhand appear in it.
It is entirely conceivable that the planned live-action film adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 will follow the same principle asfollows:That means:The plot revolves around new characters and a new storyline that takes place in the middle of Night City.
It would definitely make sense that CD Projekt Red would rely on comparable or even the same star power from Hollywood heavyweights like Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba. Ultimately, fans can only do one thing at the moment:Wait and drink tea.
There was a final update on the planned live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077. Since then there has only been CD Projekt, thatanother animation project in the style of Edgerunnerscomes.
