One of the coolest steampunk worlds will soon get their own pen & paper role-playing game

Falls London allows you a few eerie hours with friends in a wonderfully dark setting.

Fans of Fallen London have lived in a dark, fans for over 15 yearsdistorted version of the Victorian London. The role-playing setting originally comes from a browser-based text role-playing game, then formed the background for some quite praised PC games and is now to be revived as Pen & Paper Setting.

Kickstarter has been running since February 11thA new campaign of the role-playing professionals by Magpie Games. The publisher sells some role-playing games quite popular with PEN & Paper fans, such as Avatar: Legends, Mask or Root.

The campaign falls London: The Roleplaying Game has started and has already powdered its crowdfunding destination. 47,000 euros were requested, 655,000 euros have so far been taken. However, not all stretch goals have been cracked yet.

That is special in the world

One reason for the great success of the Kickstarter campaign is undoubtedly in the game world, which was very popular 15 years ago as a setting for the browser role-playing game. If you doorplayed, you even know them! The two action role-playing games appeared in 2015 and 2019 andwere extremely well received by fans and critics.

In Fallen London, your self -created hero or heroine is in the Victorian London, but in a rather distorted version. The city was kidnapped here in 1859 by bats (correctly read) andhave been brought into the underground called the Neath. The former cosmopolitan city has been in this dark place for 40 years and has been increasingly changed by this unreal environment.

The result is still the dark, Gothic cityscape, including gas lamps, cylinders and long coats, as you know from this time. However, you can also meet strange figures on the streets of the city.Including inkfish -headed humanoids or culprit rats - even demons of hell scurry through the city's dirty alleys. Above all, death only plays a subordinate role, as many people return sooner or later.

A perfect sandpit for several stories about large mysteries, dark intrigue and self -destructive ambition.

This is how the game works

As a pen & paper role-playing game, Fallen London is of course a matter of getting together with the same-minded and doing orders together to work on a specific goal. A game management directs the world and all its residents with whom she interacts.

As a cube system, Fallen relies on London on its own rules, which takes a six -sided cube back. The more advantages your character can show at a certain sample, the more dice his player takes in hand for the rehearsal. For example, one for every attribute point, one for special skills, one for a helpful item and one for favorable circumstances.

With these dice you have toAt least one five or six dice, so as not to fail completely. The more such successes, the better the sample is. If you have three or more five and six, the rehearsal was a spectacular success!

Each hero and every hero has one or more obsessions that can give additional bonuses for samples. But this can also lead to the character losing the mind at some point. London is said to be a narrative system that relies on "mini -games" called conflicts for fighting or chase hunts, but does not expect a large -scale combat system.
