How did you play video games in the children's room earlier? It probably depends on how old you are, but for many of us there was only one way at the timetogether
to play. And alternately.
I have been doing this with friends for years when we are interested in a single player game: Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Hollow Knight or Hades.
These are all great games that you can play with friends, as long as you sit next to each other in a room and press the controller into each other in your hand.
After all, you can't play games without a multiplayer function online, right? Incorrect! I am currently playing Hollow Knight with a friend 300 kilometers away and I'm really happy to finally banish the modern classic from my pile of shame - thanks to PARSEC.
PARSEC: Team Viewer for Games
With Parsec you can easily play with far away friends as long as you have an internet connection. To do this, you invite the softwareOn the official websitedown.
How does Parsec work?Parsec establishes a connection between your PC and the other person's PC. Not only the picture is transferred, but also your entries.
That means: your mouse and keyboard is also recognized and you can practically control the host's PC. It is particularly nice that controller inputs are also transmitted. So you can enjoy any form of game together.
How about latency? The greatest concern that I initially had is the latency when playing. After all, Hollow Knight is anything but trivial and demands precise and well -coordinated actions in fast fights.
After about 15 hours in the game, however, I can tell you that the latency is very small and I hardly notice when I play. For me, the latency is usually less than 30 milliseconds. Often even under 20 milliseconds.
As a reminder: Up to 60 milliseconds, most (non-shooter) games are still easy to play.
Only when the internet connection fluctuates does the connection noticeably indicate. This has already caused one or the other early death. But that rarely happens that it doesn't bother me.
Problems with latency? If you try parsec and the latency is too high, you can take these measures:
- Use LAN instead of WLAN: Connects a network cable on both PCs. WLAN increases latency and often ensures packet losses.
- Deactivate VSYNC:VSYNC should be switched off in the PARSEC settings to avoid additional waiting times.
- Select lower resolution and frame rate:Places z. B. 720p at 60 Hertz. This reduces the amount of data and improves the response time.
- Use current computers: It may sound stupid, but your computer has to master hardware decoding. On RedditRecommends a developer of Parsec to only use devices that have been published after 2011.
- Check bandwidth:A stable upload of at least 10 Mbit/s on the side of the host and 20 Mbit/s download at the client are ideal.
- Close background programs:Ends all programs that claim bandwidth or system resources-such as cloud backups or downloads.
- Restart the PARSEC and check updates:A simple restart can also work miracles here - just like a current client.
What about Steam Remote Play?
Steam has a similar function, but it is only available for games with a local multiplayer mode. So if you want to play a couch co-op game with friends, the Steam function also offers itself.
Parsec, on the other hand, enables the common or alternating play of pure single player titles.
How can I get started?
Download the software via the link above, add your play partner as a friend and connect with the PC.
Depending on the model, the host has to release a controller or the game, but that is simply possible through the settings.
After that, the host only has to start the game and you can start.
I wish you at least as nice time as I have with Parsec. In any case, I highly recommend it to you!
Which game would you like to play with PARSEC? Have you already had any experience with the software? Like to write it in the comments.
