Stand:
A Battle Pass is a central component of many service games, but the boss of Diablo 4 considers him out of date. He announces adjustments and skins.
Since the release ofthe Battle Pass accompanies every season. Players grind through up to 90 steps full of rewards - partly free of charge, partly behind a paywall. But the system has worn out, says the General Manager of Diablo 4, Rod Fergusson. In conversation withGame Filehe calls the classic Battle Pass model "antiquated" and indicates changes.
Chef wants new Battle Pass, praises Call of Duty
Fergusson explain thatwants to find new ways to make rewards more exciting. He praises the MAP-based Battle Pass system: Modern Warfare 2 and 3, in which players could decide for themselves which items they first unlock. Even ifReturned back to the classic model, a similar feature in Diablo 4 could bring a new dynamic.
In addition to possible Battle Pass changes, Fergusson announces an expansion of the Cosmetics. While Diablo 4 has so far been strongly based on its dark, dark fantasy setting, there will soon be "flamboy-tantrums" skins-basically Fergusson says that the Cosmetics will become more colorful and crazy. Blizzard is also considering more crossovers - after working with World of Warcraft, further surprises could follow.
It is unclear whether the revised system will already be introduced in Season 8. Diablo-4 players still have to be patient: The current season 7 has been extended to give Blizzard more time for the next-start is now on April 29, 2025, the test servers are open until March 18. What is certain is that the Battle Pass in Diablo 4 will not stay as it is. Now it remains to be seen what Blizzard has in stock instead..
