Indie studio Drydock lifted the curtain on their next game at the Wholesome Snack event: Based on the popular Cozy hitthe journey goes with the new onecontinues and introduces a new setting.
Unlike the original, you no longer find yourself as a student witch on a farm, but instead try your hand at being an innkeeper, manager and witch in a magical guesthouse. The focus is on social relationships and social events such as tea parties or dance evenings, leaving pitchforks and chicken coops behind.

From the farm to high society
The story takes you back to the town of Fairhaven, this time at the turn of the century. With the new protagonist Vivian you will take over a tranquil guesthouse, which you will renovate and expand over the course of the game.
So that your customers don't get bored during their stay, you can plan and hold events. The examples mentioned so far are tea parties, shared dinners and balls. At these large events it is also important that you take care of guest lists, menus and the well-being of everyone present.
While you mingle with the tea-sipping, elegant society, you also get the opportunity to pair up NPCs. The development team promises a “drama sim”. If you are determined to do so, you can probably expect a lot of interpersonal strain.
There may no longer be field work, but you can still decorate your guesthouse.
The thing about witchcraft
As in Wylde Flowers, you join a secret coven of witches and invite magical like-minded people to nightly séances. Judging by the first trailer, you can explore the area by flying on a broomstick. If you successfully make contact with spirits, the supernatural beings can also help you with one or two tasks.
The first screenshots also show that you can set up your hotel and visit nearby Fairhaven. This time you can also explore the world freely from a shoulder perspective. Other features include a larger map, more characters, more magic and a branching story.
It remains to be seen how extensively the many farming aspects of the predecessor will play a role. Wylde Society wants to focus less on field work and more on social events and tea parties. There is currently no release date.
What do you think: Are you looking forward to Wylde Society?
