In December we had for the first timebelongs to the new game baby from-Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. The action RPG with an open world was recently presented in a trailer and seems a bit like a “Vampire Witcher”.
In an interview, the developer has now revealed why he left CD Projekt Red and founded his new studio Rebel Wolves. In his opinion, a game of this type can only be developed under certain conditions.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is said to be “unique”.
In einem Interview hat TomaszkiewiczPC Gamerrevealed that his creative vision for The Blood of Dawnwalker could best be implemented in a smaller studio founded specifically for this purpose. He states:
"I think that the rules of RPGs can be stretched and expanded. We have crazy ideas. We knew that to implement them we would have to start our own studio because it would be difficult to convince a big company to do it."
Tomaszkiewicz doesn't yet reveal exactly what the role-playing game wants to do differently than the genre's greats. He only explains that these new elements also require new solutions. The studio co-founder is aware of the risk that this entails. He further explains:
"I felt like a smaller team could do more because of the communication within that team. So it's easier to talk about the vision. It's easier to feel the creative fire and do something special."
This peculiarity is already known
We already know a rather unusual component of The Blood of Dawnwalker. The game has a time aspect. However, publisher Bandai Namco has revealed to us that we don't have to run through the world with a ticking real-time clock on our necks.
Instead, quests allow time to advance and we only have 30 days to finish protagonist Coen's story.
The time window is not chosen randomly. Coen doesn't have long left until he turns into a vampire after being bitten. He only has about a month to "get everything sorted out" beforehand and needs to choose carefully what he focuses on.
Although The Blood of Dawnwalker is officially classified as an action RPG, the story is likely to play a very important role and decisions have consequences. By the way, the action is set in an alternative 14th century in the Carpathians.
How does the game sound to you so far?
