Games can sensitize the topic of extremism
Some games are now dealing with extremism and can make an important contribution to sensitizing children and young people.
The event is to show examples of how games take up the topic and how to help you think about the topic.
Through the program, three experts lead:
- Melanie Endler, Media education and cooperation speaker
- Maurice Matthieu,Speaker members and communication
- Matej Samide,Project manager at the Digital Game Culture Foundation
What exactly does the USK do?In the German-speaking world, the USK mainly takes care of the age rating of computer and video games, the test criteria were expanded two years ago.
In addition to the actual possible risky content, all games submitted for examination are also examined for online risks such as in-game chats or gaming mechanics. In the meantime, these usage risks for the evaluation of digital games have also been anchored in the leading criteria.
In addition, the USK youth protection certificates are distributed if certain systems meet the high standards of German Youth Media Protection. In the past, the USK awarded such a certificate, for example, for the Xbox consoles and their internal youth protection system.
