These days, sales happen almost all year round and if we don't buy games right when they're released, we can often save a lot of money a little later if we grab the games on sale cheaply.
Smite 2, for which you had to pay at least 30 euros until a few days ago, goes one step further. You can now download and play the game completely free of charge.

The successor to the extremely successful Smite, which attracted over 40 million players in the last generation of consoles, is currently still in early access, but without the hurdle of a purchase price it could be worth taking a look at for fans of fast-paced action games.
These 8 games are currently also almost free in the PS Store:
This is what awaits you in Smite 2
Smite 2 is a real MOBA in which we compete against each other in teams in 5 vs. 5 games. Unlike most popular mobas, such as League of Legends or DOTA, we control our character from the 3rd person view. This should make the duels much more immersive and action-packed.
We take control of a god and, for example, throw lightning bolts as Zeus or take a more secret and devious path with Loki. Through the targeted use of our skills, the right choice of upgrades and tactical team play, we defeat the opposing team.
You can watch the whole thing in motion in the trailer:
Despite the fun game concept, the successor has struggled a bit since its release in August 2024 and initially only had a manageable number of simultaneous players. They are also conflicted, as shown by the balanced rating on Steam and the 3.5 star rating in the PS Store.
The gaming feel, which is very close to its popular predecessor, is praised there. However, the performance and the in-game shop are criticized. After all, after the entry barrier was removed, the game was able to reach more players again and even reach a new all-time high of just over 15,000 people on Steam. This is still not very high, especially for an online game, but it is still a significant increase, especially since the trend continues to be upwards.
What do you think about Smite 2? Will you test the game now that it is free to play, or is pure multiplayer not for you either? Tell us in the comments!
