The second season of the HBO implementation ofshould start in April 2025. While the first season told the history of the entire first game in 2013, season 2 will only cover part of the successor of 2020.
Neil Druckmann, the creative director of the two games and showrunner of the HBO series, revealed in an interview that in the second season there will also be additional scenes that have not made it into the games.

The Last of Us shows new material
That was said:The start of Season 2 is slowly moving closer and therefore it does not surprise that the PR machine around the series is slowly but surely going. Druckmann and co-showrunner Craig Mazin have a longer, exclusive conversation withEntertainment Weeklyled.
Among other things, Druckmann mentions that material that still had to be deleted in the development of the games will be seen in the second season. Some scenes are also in the remastered version oflanded, but not all. Druckmann describes the scenes with the words:
"Pretty brutal, but I'm very excited that people see it."
What could it be about?It has been known for a long time that there are a number of ideas that have not made it into the second game, although some of them were even fully implemented.
Which material it is ultimately is only speculated. However, we assume that the series will not completely rewrite the story.

Even away from this, season 2 will have a few surprises for fans of the games. For example, Catherine O'Hara will play a figure that could not be seen in the games at all and Printmann promises that there should also be new perspectives.
