The Day Before developers can't help it and are now 'giving' you unpaid work for their new game

The look on our faces when we hear that Fntastic is giving away unpaid work.

After developer Fntastic withhas released the most negatively cheeky release of the year on Steam, the rip-off now continues seamlessly. Not with their newly announced game Escpape Factory?? but with your new project, for which you now have the chance to work unpaid and "unleash your creativity" in the process.

Does everything sound really bad and shabby? It is too.

The Day Before developer is doing it again

As a reminder again:As “The Last of Us MMO” and a potential new survival hit, The Day Before became the most hyped game of the year, but when it was released it turned out to be an unparalleled audacity. Whether there was a scam or simply incompetence on the part of developer Fntastic only plays a marginal role after the game has been deleted from Steam and the purchase price has been refunded to all those brave enough to do so.

But the development of The Day Before was already characterized by volunteers offering their work for free. You can see the full extent of the rip-off in the video:

While it was quite quiet around Fntastic for a few months, the studio came back with a new "transparency policy" and promised to do everything better in the future. A new campaign by the magazine now shows what “better” meansThe Gamerrecently revealed.

“Winning” unpaid work for a new game

A new competition was recently announced to the community via Discord and the prize is quite impressive. The lucky winners get the chance to find the maps they submitted for free in the new Fntastic game ITEMS, which should be the Prop Hunt game “of your dreams”.

"This competition is a chance for you to unleash your creativity"

Eligible for the competition are 2D drawings, 3D models or “any other style” of cards. Additionally, and this is where things get really wild, submissions must include images or graphics, the name and description of the card, and even balancing considerations.

Of course the work is not paid, how could it be otherwise. But hey, you can then admire YOUR work later in the finished game (if it ever comes out), which you'll even get for free. Well if that's nothing!

All joking aside, the motto here is of course to “keep your hands off”!
