Stick Drift knows absolutely everyone-you gamble on your PS5 with your dual-sensense controller and after a few years or even months your character turns annoyingly by itself. The cause of this is usually wear. In the dual sensual sticks, two slices rub on top of each other to measure electrical voltage flows, but they are continuously removed.
So far there has been no real solution because it was physical damage, but I recently came across a web app, which repaired two terribly drifting controllers in no time. It knocked me out of my socks so that I definitely don't want to withhold it from you.

In the past, Chris has mainly repaired broken consoles, but now he also takes on controllers with a stick drift. So far there have been hardly any solutions apart from a complete exchange - apart from an app that works excellently for him and made two dual sensual fit again.
My starting point:I searched for replacement sticks for two dual sensual controllers because the two pads suffer from a strong drift in the left stick. Spare parts of third-party providers are not always well set at the factory, so that they drift, which is why there are special calibration boards for soldering for fine adjustment.
In the first controller, test apps showed a strong drift to the left, but the right stick is no longer completely centered.
The boards were also the standard for many years, at least by mid -2024 an app with the simple name "Dualhock Tools". This can be used to access the firmware of the dual senses and new calibration data can be fed in.
But wait ... a tool that eliminates deviations to the sticks to prevent stick drift? Why shouldn't that also work with worn sticks? Quasi like the then with the PS2, the also drifted sticks equalized with a new calibration at every start of the console.
I have without further adoDualShock-ToolsThen tried the broken controllers and less than three minutes later I was able to go through thePress and nasty animals inHit.
I was completely surprised that the app worked so well.Because the vast majority of other tips against stick drift (apart from a professional repair) usually fail miserably because of the fact that it is essentially a hardware deficiency in a component that cannot be achieved without screwing.
So you remove the stick drift of your controller within a few minutes
If you want to try the duals stair tools yourself, then you have to proceed as follows:
- Goes to the with a chrome-based browserDual-croof tool side. Unfortunately, it is not possible without Chrome, since Firefox and Co. lack a special interface for controller detection.
- Connect your drifting dual sensense controller on the PC or laptop via a USB cable and click on the pageConnect.
- The data on the memory chip of your dual-sensense controllers are read out and displayed.
- Place your dual senses flat on a table and click onCalibrate the middle of the embroidery.
- Follow the instructions on the screen and move the sticks diagonally into one corner before you let go.
- After the four individual tests, you press onReadyand drive withCalibrate embroidery areafort.
- There you have to turn both sticks in a circle several times, the longer you do, the more precisely the measurement. I shot both sticks for about a minute.
- Click onReadyand go up againCalibrate the middle of the embroideryto repeat the first test.
- The deviation in the joystick information should be used after the calibration has been completed0,00lay.
- Click onSave changes permanentlyto take over the calibration.
- SeparatesYour controller again from the app via the authority button.
IMPORTANT!
In theory, you can damage your controller irreparably if you pull it from the USB cable during the memory process or do not separate it correctly, since then damaged data is installed.
It is also currently unclear whether Sony recognizes the adjustments and could possibly lead them to a spell. So far we have not found any signs, but currently do not assume because it is only a repair and not a cheat or similar frauds.
Afterwards you can then use the function of your dual sensense controller via theGamepad-Testercheck. In my case, I was no longer displayed with a PS5 controller, with another one only very minimal-but this dual sensory also fell on the floor with the stick. Ouch.
After the calibration, everything is Tutti at the first dual sensual - it no longer causes me any difficulties.
Smartphone app as an alternative to the PC
By the way, you can use theDualShock-ToolsAlso, as the name reveals, free ps4 controllers from drifting sticks and there is even a free cell phone variant inGoogle Play-Storethat in the nameDriftGuardheard.
The prerequisite for this is a USB-C-USB-C cable through which you can connect the dual sensual to the cell phone.
You proceed similarly to the PC, so after connecting the controller, select the first oneCenterand calibrates the middle of the embroidery, then you lead some stick turns in theRange-Test through and finally closes another oneCenter-pass from. If everything looks okay at the bottom of the gamepad tester, you operatePermanentAnd the changes are saved.
More Playstation repairs:
Dual-head tools comes from Alain Carlucci, a technician who studied the firmware and boards of PS4 and PS5 controllers. For his web app, he takes advantage of a special function that Sony uses for repairs to read out the firmware of the gamepads.
It can be activated with specially written code and thus enables the Playstation controller to calibrate. A fairly brilliant function that has just saved me the new purchase of a dual senses. At least for the time being, because the wear of the sticks doesn't stop at once.
But I'm curious to see how long I can continue to play without any problems. However, the hours in which I can play without drift are currently increasing.
Do you think the tool is so good? Could it also help you?
