On the Switch the big content patch 1.6 is forIt only landed in November, around half a year after its launch on PC. That's why developer Eric "Concerned Ape" Barone is currently providing important bug fixes.
However, according to fans, the last update led to new problems, at least for some people. One person explains: "Concerned Ape broke my frogs."
Stardew Valley patch on the Switch brings nasty bug
The most important thing in brief
- Stardew Valley patch 1.6 came to the Switch in November, six months after the PC version.
- Developer Eric Barone is working on bug fixes, but the latest update caused new problems for some players.
- One person reported that various frogs in his aquariums lost their colors after the update and turned into ordinary green frogs.
- Other players confirm similar problems with their frogs that were in the aquarium while those in boxes remained untouched.
- Tips for avoiding the color change have been shared, and fans are asking for general information about frogs in the game.
Reddit-User texas_toasty_ashdescribes the situation in more detail in a post: The person had a mixed bunch of frogs in his or her aquariums: red, blue, prismatic and a shadow frog. After the new patch, everyone suddenly turned into ordinary green hoppers.
Or rather - in a reply post the person explains in more detail that some are green, some are more blue-green and some are brown. But the special and rare colors that texas_toasty_ash worked hard for are apparently lost for now. The fan reports very dramatically about the update:
I never thought it would destroy my hopes and dreams.
Another community member also has the problem and writes in the comments: "The same thing happened to me!!! The ones I had in boxes haven't changed. Only those that I had in the aquarium or that followed me." Another person reports that even a frog egg changed color - and of course it was a shadow frog egg.
Are you Stardew Valley fans? This great farm sim is also available on the Switch:
A fan, on the other hand, is grateful for the warning and put his special frog in a chest to update and only then took it out again. This prevented the color change.
Knowing Concerned Ape, he should certainly take note of the community voices and seek solutions.
Frogs and their colors in Stardew Valley
Under the post, some community members also ask general questions about frogs and aquariums or express surprise at texas_toasty_ash's impressive collection. Frog eggs can generally be found in the mine or the skull cave, for example, when you kill monsters or destroy crates.
But they are generally rather rare, especially the shadow-colored or prismatic ones. In addition, mastering combat is a prerequisite.
With the anvil and ingots it is also possible to try a "re-roll", i.e. randomly changing the color of a frog egg. For this purpose, texas_toasty_ash raised a lot of iridium bars to “grab them all”.
Do you already have a frog collection yourself? And do you play Stardew Valley on the Switch? What can you say about the new patch?
