Over 17 years after the release of its predecessor, we can finally expect the release of next Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
We'll tell you here what time you start and whether you can use the well-known 'New Zealand trick' to storm into the zone a little earlier.

If you want to play Stalker 2 on Wednesday, you'll have to wait until late afternoon. The start time is appropriately after work.
Can you play Stalker 2 sooner?
Unfortunately no, the launch takes place at the same time worldwide. The popular "New Zealand trick", with which you can trick your console into thinking you live on the "Middle-earth" islands, doesn't work. There is also no early access start.
Release after several postponements and hardships
The release of Stalker 2 has already been postponed several times - among other things, the successor to Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, which was released in 2007, was supposed to appear in the first quarter of 2024, but was then dated September 5th.
In July, Studio GSC Game World announced that the date could not be kept and it was postponed to November 20th.
Since GSC Game World is a Ukrainian studio, development was hugely influenced by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. In a recent onepublish documentary, the team talks about, among other things, the challenges involved.
Stalker 2 will initially only appear on Xbox Series X/S and PC, but not for PS5. However, a later release on the Sony console is not ruled out.
