If you have bought a PS5 Pro and now want to make sure that you do everything correctly when setting up and setting up the new console, then you have come to the right place. Although Sony guides you through the setup process very well, one or two questions can still arise. We will therefore guide you in just a few steps from setting up the console to setting it up on the screen.
Step 1: Setting up the PS5 Pro
You can have both the PS5 Prohorizontalout tooverticalplace.
Very important! If you want to set up the console vertically, you will have to expect additional costs, as the PS5 Pro does not come with a corresponding stand. You can still place the console in an upright position, but you must exercise great caution as it begins to wobble very quickly when touched.
Attach the horizontal feet
Two horizontal feet are included in the box and can easily be attached to the back of the console between the black grooves. To do this, take the two transparent plastic stands and insert them into the holes provided as shown in the picture:
The flat side of the feet must face inwards.
Once you have attached the feet, you can turn the PS5 Pro over and place it where you want.
However, you should pay attention to the placementthat there is enough space around the console and that air can circulate. Otherwise, your PS5 Pro may overheat.
Attach the vertical stand
If you bought the accessories separately, you can easily screw on the vertical stand. We have captured the steps required for assembly in pictures for you, from removing the screw cap on the underside of the console to placing the stand and screwing it together:
First of all, unpack the stand and take the black screw out of the packaging. You don't need the included adapter, it is only intended for the original PS5.
Can I still use my PS5 side plates?By the way, if you planned to use the side plates of your standard PS5 on the PS5 Pro, that's not possible. For the time being, the console is only available in a white look. There will certainly be special side plates for the Pro at a later date.
Step 2: Connecting the cables
Once the PS5 Pro is in the right place, it's time to work on the cabling. The following steps are necessary for this:
- Power cable:Connect the included power cable to your console and the socket.
- HDMI cable:Now plug the included HDMI cable (which side doesn't matter) into the back of your PS5 Pro and the other end into your television or monitor.
- Network cable:If you prefer a wired internet connection instead of WiFi, you will need to connect a network cable directly to your router. The cable is not included.
If all cables are connected correctly, press the power button to start. You can find it on the front of the PS5 Pro.
You can find the connection for the power cable on the back on the outside.
Step 3: Initial settings on the screen
Once you have found a place for the PS5 Pro and wired it accordingly, all you have to do now is configure the console. But don't worry, Sony will guide you through the setup in simple steps.
At the beginning you can also decide whether a voice reads out the necessary steps in your preferred language. If you wish, you can also deactivate the accessibility feature.
Connect DualSense via cable:During the initial setup, you first have to connect the DualSense controller to the console via a cable. To do this, take the included USB-C cable and plug it into the USB slot on the front of your PS5 Pro. Then activate the controller by pressing the PS button, which is located in the middle of the gamepad.
You now have to make the following settings:
- Choice of language
- Internet connection setup
- Adjusting TV/monitor settings (screen size and brightness for HDR)
- Setting up sleep mode
- Create a PSN account or log in with a PSN account
