Pokémon TCG Pocket: If I had known this trick earlier in battles, it would have saved me a lot of frustration

Some functions in PTCGP are not so obvious, but are extremely helpful.

InWe not only collect cards, but also fight against the CPU and other players. If we want to win, it's not just good decks that are essential. Just the first active Pokémon you choose can decide whether you win or lose.

This makes it all the more important not to choose the wrong card - which still happens to me occasionally in the heat of the moment. Fortunately, there is a little trick that can help in such a case, but you have to know it first.

This trick in preparing for battle changes everything!

Maybe this sounds familiar to you in fights:After the first coin toss, you just take a quick look at the cards in your hand in the preparation phase and put the seemingly ideal basic Pokémon in the slot for the active Pokémon.

Shortly afterwards, however, you realize that you would have preferred to choose the other Pokémon, or that you missed a basic Pokémon on the small smartphone display that you would have preferred to send straight into the first round.

At least I find myself in this situation from time to time and then get annoyed because I can only change the Pokémon during the battle itself, which costs time and energy. As a result, I no longer have the feeling that I'm starting the match in the best possible way.

Sometimes this resulting negative feeling even continues throughout the match, which is why I only fight half-heartedly or give up straight away. After all, I don't want to waste my time.

Yes, if only I had looked at my cards with concentration and chosen wisely. Would have, would have, bicycle chain... In short, I have often wished that I could change my first active Pokémon during preparation.

And it actually works - I just didn't know it!I played ignorantly for a long time until a Reddit post finally opened my eyes:

I had already tried swapping in various ways, but for some unknown reason I never thought of simply pressing the selected, active Pokémon once to recall it. That's all we have to do: One click on the card and the space for the active Pokémon is free again - only in preparation, of course.

Since the trading card game doesn't explain everything to us in detail, it's entirely possible to overlook such small functions. This can make TCG Pocket life unnecessarily difficult.

But what about you? Did you know about this recall function during fights? Do you know any other valuable tricks that are not so obvious? Feel free to write us your thoughts in the comments.
