As we all know, good luck and bad luck are close together. Buthas literally sent me through a rollercoaster of emotions over the past few weeks and has currently made me feel like the worst unluckiest person under the sun.
I want to tell you why I considered myself a real lucky guy for a long time, then felt seriously ripped off by the game and the developers and am now disappointed by the trading card game day after day.
Another new card!!!
If you are still quite inexperienced with a new game, it can always happen that one or two mechanics are not entirely clear to you. If the developers then manage to confuse you with a rather unfavorable translation into German, the chaos is complete.
What I'm getting at. If I make a miracle choice, choose one of the five face-down cards, always flashing in the upper left corner "Neu!". By the way, this is what the whole thing looks like:
Although this may seem very naive in retrospect, I still thought until November that I...the biggest Pokémon lucky guy of all timeand am constantly adding a new card to my Pokèdex.
It was only in a conversation with colleague and TCG fan Bastie that the great enlightenment came to me. Because of luck, the “New!” just tells me that another card has landed in the Pokédex. Great! For me, as an old Panini hand who is only interested in catching his football collection booklet or, as here, all the pocket monsters, this is a bitter setback.
“Luck” turned into the biggest streak of bad luck
But well, drawing a new card every time you choose the miracle would be a bit too easy in the long run. However, at the time, I had no idea how bad luck would befall me when I opened the booster packs.
I'm currently still missing 5 cards from the "Unbeatable Genes" set and only one card from the "Mysterious Island" set.
These cards just don't want to be in my collection:Pikachu-ex, Hypno, Mewtu, Smogmog, Kangama und Garados-ex.
Although the two ex cards are of course super rare and the card from Gyarados-ex only appears with a probability of 0.333%, the rest are just cards in the 3 diamond category.
Since nowten daysHowever, I only pull cards from both packs and the Miracle Choice that I already have dozens of times. Nidoqueen as a 3 diamond card has now found its way into my Pokédex a total of 6 times and I can no longer see the rhino lady. At least with the miracle choice, the probability of drawing the desired card is always 1 in 5.
What makes matters worse is that I have taken out the premium subscription and can even open another pack every day. But that doesn't help either and my TCG Pocket experience is a complete tragedy and I feel like I'm the most unlucky person in the world.
The new expansion, which is scheduled to appear at the end of January, can't come quickly enough for me to finally draw a fresh card again.
