Pokémon's official Japanese X-Account announced the new Anime "Dragoran and the Postbook" on February 6, 2025 and is then published today. The anime is to appear on the official YouTube channel of the franchise.

According to information from the Japanese online magazine Natalie Comics, the new anime is produced by the animation studio Com Wave Films, which is one of the most respected and best animation studios of Japan. The studio is known, among other things, for its implementations of the world's successful anime "Your Name", "Weathering with you" and "Suzume" by Makoto Shinkai.

But what is "Dragoran and the Postman" about?The story revolves around a young girl named Hana, the little boy Rio and a Dragoran who executes letters and packages as post messengers.
Hana has admired the Dragoran in her neighborhood since childhood. One day she gets a letter from exactly this Dragoran, which strangely does not seem to be addressed to her, but someone else. In order to get the riddle on the track, she finds her way to the city and the young Rio there as the sender.
Rio wanted to send his father, who works outside the city in the Kanto region, a letter for his birthday. The letter incorrectly landed with Hana and not Ri's father. Now it looks like the letter no longer arrives in time for the birthday. So it is now to Hana, Rio and Dragoran to deliver the letter on time.
So far, there is no precise information on whether further episodes are planned for the anime special. Pokémon's official X account only announced that "Dragoran and the Postbote" will be an "anime short".
