Nintendo has already confirmed that the Switch will have a successor. When exactly the new console will be unveiled is still much more uncertain. So far we only know that the reveal should take place by March 31, 2025.
It's all the more interesting that new pictures have now appeared online that supposedly show the Joycon controllers of the Switch 2 (or whatever the successor is called).
This is supposed to change with the new Joycons
The new pictures are in oneVideoappeared on the Chinese site bilibili and was there by a user namedMario 68uploaded. However, you have to squint a little to see the differences between the original and new Joycons.

This is not only because the two controllers unsurprisingly look quite similar, but also because the images are quite blurry. The photos allegedly come from an anonymous source and have been heavily edited to protect their identity.
However, a few interesting details can still be gleaned from the pictures and video. There seems to be an additional button on the back of the Joycons.
Interestingly, this coincides with an older leak about the Switch 2, which also showed additional buttons. But this was still a 3D reenactment.

He also has YouTubers and X-UsersAthaell Nintendistasummarized a few details that stand out in the video. Accordingly, the Joycons are supposed to:
- have infrared cameras on both controllers
- have raised SL/SR buttons
- have a new button at the back that is reminiscent of a pedal
- have a "C" button on the right Joycon under the home button
How realistic is that?Of course, it is currently impossible to verify whether there is any truth to these rumors. Nintendo has not yet officially commented on these images.
The fact that the leak comes from China of all places is not that far-fetched. After all, the Switch successor is likely to go into mass production here, which is of course the perfect template for leaks.
In any case, you should treat the new information with caution. This could just as easily be a fake. For better or worse, we'll have to wait until Nintendo officially unveils the Switch 2.
What do you think of the leaked images? Would they meet your expectations for the Switch 2?
