The Nintendo Switch 2 is a further development of the first switch in many ways. In addition to a larger display and a significantly stronger chip, adjustments and improvements also include the revised docking mechanism of the Joy-Con.
The two controllers no longer slide in rails on the display as with the first switch, but are held on the device with magnets. And especially the docking process with the rich clacking ensures enormous anticipation on social media.
"I am addicted to this video"
User Sirlink360 has shared a video on Reddit, in which the magnetic attachment of the Joy-Con can be seen and enthusiastically overwrites his thread:
"I am addicted to this video and need confirmation that it is as satisfactory as I think."

The user is certain that he will play around with the off and docking mechanism "similar to a fidget toy". This is mainly due to the sound that is generated. Sirlink360 writes:
"This click is pure dopamine."
Much more comfortable than with Switch 1
As someone who has already tried the Switch 2, I can understand the Reddit user very well and even give him the hoped-for confirmation.
Because in fact the "drank paint" of the Joy-Con is extremely satisfactory because the small controllers grind very full and the entire mechanism through the magnets works significantly more comfortable than the "rail solution" of the first switch models.
I haven't had the fact that the whole thing can be used as a "toy on the game console", but you never learn. If you want to learn more about my first impressions with the Switch 2, I canRecommend, you will also find a spa version in video form below:
The Switch 2 will be released on June 5, 2025, and two Joy-Con are then included. Other copies are available either individually (left or right) for almost 50 euros each, but there is also a bundle that costs around 90 euros. At the start, the controllers will only be available in a black version, but more colors should follow at a later date.
How do you like the magnetic function of the new Joy-Con?
