Neither Madhouse, Mappa nor Trigger got the rights for the adaptation
The announcement of the anime adaptation is of the popular shonen manga Kagurabachi, which was a hot topic of conversation in the anime community last year. There was even an official name for the protagonist's pose with his sword in the manga that circulated as a meme - the Kagurabachi Glaze.

Cygames Pictures has worked on some lesser-known series in the West in the past, such as the girls' horse racing anime Uma Musume: Pretty Derby To The Top! or the idol girl anime The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149.
The question arises as to why this studio of all people got the rights for the anime adaptation of such a well-known and popular shonen manga, since other studios such as Mappa, Madhouse, Trigger or Pierrot have a much greater reputation for action fight sequences as Cygames Pictures.

In the comments under the post, however, the animation is also viewed critically. Most fans agree that Uma Musume shows decent quality and therefore hope that this will also be the case with Kagurabachi. After all, the clip shown is an anime film and not a series.
Ultimately, fans of the popular shonen manga want to wait and see which people from Cygames Pictures and Shochiku will lead the animation team. There is no announced release date for the Kagurabachi anime series yet, but if production begins this year, the anime could release as early as 2025.
