There is really a lot about Naughty Dogs next big gamenot yet known. Except for a single trailer and a couple, you currently have to search for information with the magnifying glass.
Now, however, an interesting detail was mentioned in a podcast. If the rumors are correct, fans may already be able to get at least one idea of the gameplay.
More freedom than in other Naughty Dog titles
SeaBen Hanson, former video producer at Game Informer and founder ofFrom Maxx Maxx, certain aspects of intergalactic should be based on Elden Ring. In a podcast of March 13, 2025, he claims that players will have significantly more playful freedom:
"I heard that the next game of Naughty Dog is strongly inspired by a game with a lot of playful freedom [...] It was compared to Elden Ring [...] It plays on a single planet on which you open the history of this world - you can imagine a little in which direction it could go."
In the only very short segment, he speaks of the fact that the information would have made the round before the release of the trailer, as you can hear in the excerpt on X here:

What could this mean for Intergalactic?
It is difficult to assess what exactly playful freedom could mean for a title like Intergalactic. However, we do not think that you can build real builds with status distributions.
Rather, the influence of Elden Ring should have an impact on exploring the game world.Perhaps you can tackle quest goals in any order on the explorable planet and discover side missions.
That would be a big step of the rather linear games that are known for which Naughty Dog is known.
