Hogwarts Legacy for Nintendo Switch 2 is technically based on PS5 and Co, these improvements await you

This awaits you with Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Open World in the Harry Potter universe fromhad to go on the Nintendo Switchget by. These should be lower on the Nintendo Switch 2.

No port of the weakened switch 1 version

As developer Avalanche explains in a new trailer to the upcoming version, Hogwarts Legacy is based technically on the "Next Gen" version, i.e. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.

This does not automatically mean that all graphic improvements really hike to the Switch 2, but at least it means a decent jump compared to the Switch 1.

These upgrades have been confirmed:

  • Higher resolution
  • more FPS
  • Higher texture resolution
  • Better lighting
  • Higher number of NPCs on the screen
  • Smooth card charging times (Via Nintendo)
  • "Extensive size of the castle"

Confirmed Switch 2 features:

  • Gamechat support
  • Movement control
  • Mouse control with the new Joy-Cons

With more characters, the world is likely to feel a little more lively apart from more chic textures than on the first Nintendo Switch.

The "extensive largest in the castle" probably refers to the restrictions in the architecture of Hogwarts on the older hardware, where there were regular loading times between different areas of the school, unlike the big siblings.

Can I upgrade the Switch 1 version?

If you have the original version for Nintendo Switch, you can also play it on the Nintendo Switch 2 without any technical improvements.

Some games likeorBring the opportunity to upgrade to the technically better Switch 2 version for 10 euros.

This option has not yet been confirmed for Hogwarts Legacy. In contrast to the Breath of the Wild: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, there is also a corresponding note on the Nintendo shop page.

With a little bad luck, publisher Warner Bros. therefore demands a new purchase from you when Hogwarts Legacy appears on June 5 for Nintendo Switch 2.
