User PrimeLasagna looks back at the beginning of Dragon Ball, when a young Son Goku easily masters Muten Roshi's Kamehameha. Although his master had to train for years for this, Son Goku managed to do it within a very short time. In general, this pattern runs through the fights of the entire first anime.
From this PrimeLasagna concludes,that Saiyans generally have the ability to learn fighting techniques very quickly as soon as they see them themselves.
If this were the case, it would also solve the paradox of the initial Super Saiyan transformation. Since the other Saiyans see Son Goku's transformation, it is easier for them.
This would also explain why even children like Son Goten and Trunks master the legendary transformation, which was only considered a legend for 1000 years.
Possible inspiration from template
Before Son Goku became the intergalactic super warrior, creator Akira Toriyama drew inspiration from the book's mythical character Sun WukongThe journey to the west.
Son Goku may have inherited the ability to be a quick learner from his role model. Sun Wukong is also an incredibly strong fighter who, like Goku in the first anime, likes to use his bag of tricks. We can't say whether Akira Toriyama really had in mind the ability to learn quickly as a strength of the Saiyans or was inspired by Sun Wukong. But the theory sounds plausible and is at least accepted as headcanon.
